Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos sits with distinguished members of the Italian Foreign Affairs Committee and the Standing Committee for Human Rights at the Chamber of Deputies during which they reaffirmed the solid commitment of the Italian Parliament to a global abolition of the death penalty at the opening of the International Day of Cities for Life recently held in Rome, Italy.
Mayor Abalos was the only Filipino invited as representative at the Chamber and as resource person at the 8th International Meeting of Ministers wherein Mayor Abalos presented the programs being undertaken by Mandaluyong in the upliftment of human life.
The birth of the world Association of Parliamentarians against the Death Penalty was also announced in the said event.
