Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos seems to be having a delightful chat with Manda who used to be a stray dog (askal) and is now up for adoption under the Adopt-A-Dog program initiated by Mayor Abalos.
Manda is one of the many dogs rescued by the City Animal Shelter Office which not only administers the corresponding vaccinations but also conducts a rehabilitation program for these dogs to speed up their adoption. A citywide anti-rabies vaccination is also regularly conducted thru the Mandaluyong Dog Pound. It is expected that by March of this year, 90% of the dogs in the city would have been injected with the anti-rabies vaccine.
