Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos shows the first level of the 3-storey building that houses the new public market that consists of 204 stalls for wet and dry sections.

The public market, constructed with the initiative of Mayor Abalos, is the response of the city government to the pressing problem of ambulant vendors in that area, securing an economic stability for these “entrepreneurs.”

Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos signs the Memorandum of Agreement with the Ateneo School of Government represented by Dean Antonio La Viña in establishing and sustaining the Mandaluyong's efficient and ethical good governance through the E2-G2 system. The city is the first local government in the Philippines to partner with Ateneo in establishing the said system. The system is expected to start early next year and expected to build citizen database whereas allowing all concerned offices to contribute to the base and use all available information.

Mayor Benhur Abalos leads in the observance of the Social Work Week during the recent Monday Morning Program held at the Atrium of the city’s Legislative Building. Part of the program is a powerpoint presentation highlighting the various programs being undertaken by the Department of Social Welfare & Development (DSWD)-Mandaluyong. Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos inducts the newly elected officers of the PYAP-Mandaluyong, a barangay based organization of out-of-school youths who are under DSWD care. Thru the PYAP programs, the OSYs and other disadvantaged youths are able to utilize their full potentials toward self-reliance, economic productivity and social responsibility.

Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos leads in honoring Mark John Lexer Galedo of Barangay Plainview during the city’s Morning Program held at the Executive Building.

Mark, who recently won a silver and two bronze medals in the 26th Southeast Asian Games held last November in Jakarta and Indonesia, is a member of the Mandaluyong Cycling Club headed by Renato Castillo
