Mandaluyong City Mayor Benjamin C. Abalos, Jr. signs the Memorandum of Agreement on Sisterhood with Municipality of Sta. Maria Mayor Antonio Carolino during the recent Morning Program at the Mandaluyong City Legislative Building.

The MOA seals the special relationship concerning socio-civic, economic and other endeavors between the two LGU like good governance practices and programs support-system.

Mandaluyong City Mayor Benjamin C. Abalos, Jr. presents Robert B. Mendoza, Valedictorian of Sta. Maria National High School, the scholarship grant certificate on the occasion of the signing of the Sisterhood Agreement with the Municipality of Sta. Maria, Laguna held during the recent Monday Morning Program at the City Legislative Building.

The scholarship grant, covering a 4-year BS Accountancy Course at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Sta. Mesa, is a concrete expression of the desire of Mandaluyong City strengthen sisterhood ties with the Municipality of Sta. Maria.

Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos leads in the distribution of free school supplies, including bags and notebooks to public school elementary students during the recent Monday Morning Program held at the City Hall highlighting the "Balik Eskwela" program.

This is an annual activity of the city government initiated by Mayor Abalos.

As a result of Mayor Benhur Abalos’ directive Oplan Discipline Zone, the Bike Patrol (BPAT) was launched during the recent Monday Morning Program, in cooperation with Barangay Wack-Wack Chairman Manuel Syquia with Barangay Council and Mandaluyong PNP headed by PSSupt. Armando Bolalin.

The BPAT is composed of volunteers who will augment the city’s PNP personnel in police visibility, crime prevention and in the campaign against illegal vendors, mendicants, rugby boys and street children in the PCP4, popularly known as the “show window” of our city where most business establishments are located.

Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos is joined by Department of Education-Mandaluyong officials, principals, teachers and non-teaching staff during the ceremony highlighting the "Balik Eskwela" project to ensure their readiness for the class opening for school year 2011-2012.

An estimated 30,000 elementary and 16,500 high school incoming students are expected in 21 different public schools in the city. Also in photo is Dr. Florencia Domingo, DepEd-Mandaluyong Superintendent.
