Mandaluyong City Mayor Benjamin C. Abalos Jr. fits the shoes to one of the 650 school children who benefited from the fun run dubbed “Sapatos sa Musmos” held recently. The activity encourages runners to donate either shoes or cash to benefit the less fortunate children of the city. Spearheaded by the city government and in cooperation with the Liga ng mga Barangay-Mandaluyong, Samahan sa Mandaluyong ng Kabataang Nagkakaisa (SAMAKANA), Samahan sa Mandaluyong ng mga Kagawad ng Barangay (SAMAKABA), Kababaihan Kakaibang Mandaluyong (KKM) and the Sangguniang Kabataan.

Mandaluyong City Mayor BenhurAbalos presents the new members of the Mandaluyong Dengue Warrior Brigades after their induction at the recent Morning Program of the city highlighting Dengue Awareness Month. Dengue Warrior Brigade is an inter-agency group composed of students, teachers, barangay and SK officials, health center personnel and various NGO’s in the city who will help disseminate information about the mosquito-borne viral infection and advocate anti-dengue measures being undertaken by the city government. Mandaluyong City Mayor Benjamin C. Abalos, Jr. signs the Memorandum of Agreement with the Rizal Technological University for the City of Mandaluyong Collegiate Scholars (CMCS) during the recentregular Monday morning program of the city. The CMCS Agreement ensures that qualified students are able to obtain their respective college degrees at partner school, Rizal Technological University. For SY 2012-2013, almost 300 students qualified as scholars after undergoing rigid interviews and examinations of the CMCS office. The CMCS has benefited thousands of students since its implementation in 1996.
