Spearheading the presentation of the courses offered by the Mandaluyong Manpower & Development Training Center is Mandaluyong Mayor Benjamin C. Abalos Jr. together with Officer-in-charge Ms. Merlie Tampinco.

Over the years it has produced successful individuals who took vocational courses from the school.

Mayor Benjamin C. Abalos Jr. leads in recognizing the city public market stall owners whose diligent efforts and perseverance have assured consumers of a guaranteed supply of their respective products.

The marked improvement in their status of living has also contributed to the city’s economic progress.

The awarding was held during the recent Monday Morning Program at the Executive Building.

Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos watch as Dr. Louie Encarnacion of City Animal Shelter gives an anti-rabies vaccine to one of the 500 dogs who will benefit the free vaccination.

Mandaluyong city was able to zero out rabies incidents in 2005, 2006, 2008, and 2010. In addition, Abalos said that they are coming up with a city-wide neutering program on pet dogs. The program aims to neuter male dogs to prevent unwanted dogs and control the dog population in the City. Dog population in Mandaluyong City is currently at 6,807.

Mayor Benjamin C. Abalos Jr. posed with members of the St. Michael Fire and Rescue Volunteer Brigade who have been recognized by the city for their exemplary performance of duty. City Mayor Benhur Abalos and First Lady Menchie Abalos, the incumbent President of the Nutrition Action Officers Association of the Philippines (NAOPA) warmly welcome the delegates of the National Nutrition Council 2nd Management Conference in NCR during a dinner party they hosted at Legend Villas last May 5.

Also present in the affair are NNC Deputy Executive Director Carolina Bautista-Batallones, Assistant Secretary Maria-Bernardita Flores, NNC Executive Director; and the different regional nutrition program coordinators.

Held quarterly, the highlight of the meeting include vital health and nutrition related issues and national policies.
